Political context: Fairness Project describes backing progressive ballot measures; Alliance for a Better Utah identifies its progressive mission and ProgressNow affiliation. Individual donor profiles retain distinctions in legal status and stated political approach.
The money grew after September.
The saved filed records account for $897,095.15 in cash through September 25. The state’s temporary report adds $2,291,575 dated September 28–October 22. Recalculation of 170 distinct source transaction IDs produces the known cash total above.

National money. Utah connections.
The national donor list includes The Fairness Project, Unite America and the National Education Association. Utah Donor Collaborative, Utahns for Responsive Government and Alliance for a Better Utah also appear in recipient records, with cash and contributed services identified separately.
Utah Donor Collaborative → committee
$123,000 cash and $19,134.82 in-kind in the reviewed 2026 snapshot.
Alliance for a Better Utah → direct and reported service links
A $376.08 direct in-kind entry is separate from Democratic Policy Institute entries describing services through Alliance for a Better Utah. Those records must remain distinct.
The personnel story is a separate trail.
Josh Kanter is identified in organizational sources as Alliance for a Better Utah’s founder and a Donor Collaborative board chair. Better Boundaries and this committee have documented officer overlaps. Those facts merit scrutiny without assuming Kanter controls every donor or contribution.

Where reporting continues
Identify upstream donors, legal entities and current leadership for each major contributor; examine later spending; and seek relevant responses before publishing substantive allegations. Some donor identities remain unresolved. A shared recipient alone does not establish common control.
